CAMPEÓN Y FUTURO CAMPEÓN
No puedo dejar de comentar el gran momento que viví el pasado 10 de diciembre en el I Congreso de la FEDDF. Fueron paralímpicos a los que admiro como Teresa Perales, Antonio Henares, Teresa Silva… pero quien cautivó mi corazón de doce años recién amputada, y a quien he podido volver a ver años después, es Xavi Torres, un nadador, ya por aquel entonces, muy superior a todos los demás. Recuerdo que le querían subir de categoría (pese a haber nacido sin las cuatro extremidades) porque dejaba muy atrás a los de su nivel.
Hoy se ha convertido en un exitoso nadador, comentarista deportivo, promociona el deporte en su isla, Palma de Mallorca y, lo más emocionante para mí fue poder presentarle aquella tarde a mi querido Adrián, de Corral de Almaguer, al que con dos añitos tuvieron que amputarle también los cuatro miembros para salvar su vida. Ojalá que el ejemplo de Xavi le sirva, aún es muy pequeño pero le auguro un gran futuro deportivo. Aquí tenéis la foto, quedáos con su cara porque será un futuro campeón. Estoy segura.
